The president of Teamsters Canada, Robert Bouvier, delivered an excellent speech about his organization at the Teamsters Canada Convention, which took place June 8-11, 2009.
“Our finances are in order, and we continue to increase our membership,” he said in substance.
The slogan of the Teamsters Canada Convention was “Values – Vision – Actions” and President Bouvier spoke at length about these three key words.
“These are three simple words that have a lot of power,” he explained to the delegates. “We know who we are, where we are going, and how to get there.”
The union leader also underlined the importance of the contributions made by all the union officers and the delegates and officers from local unions.
“You are influential in your respective communities! Do not let anyone tell you that you are not important,” he emphasized. “You lead people toward a common goal for the good of your members and Canadians in general.”
